The Copier Era Arrives

The earliest models used liquid chemicals to make copies. Reps would carry them into a customer’s office, drain the liquid so it wouldn’t spill, then refill and demonstrate on site. For many businesses, this was the first time they’d ever seen a document get copied. The results were gray and blurry, but great at the time.

As the technology evolved from wet liquid to dry powder, and from special treated paper to plain paper, we became a major Minolta dealer. And we learned something that still defines us today. Fixing, cleaning, and maintaining machines mattered just as much as selling them.
